This Friday I drove the 520 km to Fox Glacier, which took almost 8 hours of driving. I was lucky and got to the town Greymouth ony 10 minutes before Eva and Bengts train from Christchurs arrived, so I waited to meet them there and waited with them to get their rental car, so that we could continue together. Sadly they had some trouble with the GPS they rented, so they had to turn around, so I got to Fox some time before them, but it was still good to meet up earlier and talk some so we knew how the other was thinking. The motel we stayed at was called Sunset Motel and it was clean and nice, but it felt weird for me since I’ve grown used to have other people around me by now. It was beautifully situated, but when we got there it was raining, which it also did Saturday morning, so we did not appreciate the view until Sunday morning, when it cleared up and you could se the glacier and the mountain tops from the back door of the room. |
